Often when I am troubled or confused, I find comfort in sitting in my backyard and having a vodka martini and a quiet conversation with Jesus.

This happened to me recently after a particularly trying day. I said, “Jesus, why do people work so hard?”

Supposedly this is an actual letter from an Iowa resident and sent to his Senator. I don’t know if it’s really legitimate letter or not,  but even though it’s obviously meant to be sarcastic, the points made are difficult to argue with…

The House passed a bill by a vote of 228-196 that would require voters to provide photo identification in the 2008 election, and by 2010, voters in federal elections will be required to present photo identification showing that they are U.S. citizens. States will be required to provide, and deliver the ID cards at no charge to all citizens that cannot afford to pay the nominal fee
Even though we already need ID to buy beer, get a job, rent an apartment, or even to buy cigarrettes, 196 of our elected representatives voted against this bill citing a variety of reasons.
